Happy Veteran's Day from GradMoney!

On behalf of GradMoney, we would like to thank all of those brave men and women who have served, are currently serving, and will serve in the U.S. Armed Forces on this Veteran's Day 2015!
I come from a family that despite a multitude of hardships, always has been very patriotic and very devoted to protecting and serving our country. Both of my grandfather's served in World War II, my maternal grandfather was a prisoner of war following the D-Day invasion and was awarded a Purple Heart. My dad is a veteran of the Vietnam War, and my new brother-in-law is currently serving in the U.S. Army's Signal Corps. In addition, I have dozens of close friends who have served in all branches of the military. It's a commitment that very few are willing to make, and yet it is one of the most important.
You can be anti-war and anti-violence, and still be pro-soldier. These are real people with real families and friends who love them. War is one of the most traumatic things a person can live through and we now understand the severity of what post-traumatic stress disorder (or PTSD) can do to individuals.
My dad's cousin served in Vietnam. Before deployment he was a kind-hearted, fun-loving guy with lots of friends. In Vietnam his orders were to interrogate Vietnamese in helicopters flying over the jungle and if their responses were useless or insignificant to throw those he interrogated to their deaths - mostly civilians, some were even women with children and babies. Needless to say, he was never the same. He received no fanfare upon his return to the United States, and ended up taking his own life after living with the trauma of his past for a couple decades. We have the resources to prevent this today, let's make sure no soldier is left behind by their country.
So on this Veteran's Day, please consider making a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project which helps soldiers, veterans and their families cope with injuries and mental illnesses from battle.
Never forget our veterans! God bless the U.S.A.!
